There’s been a lot of talk about Xbox backwards compatibility in 2026<\/a> already, especially since Xbox teased some kind of revival for the program at GDC a few weeks ago, but at the moment, we have no idea what we’ll be getting. Will it be brand-new additions for console? The arrival of Xbox backwards compatibility for PC? Could it be something totally different that we haven’t considered yet?<\/p>\n

Whatever the case may be, there’s been an interesting discovery by the Better xCloud Twitter\/X account<\/a> recently, which has pointed out that Xbox has been relisting and then quickly delisting multiple backwards compatible games.<\/p>\n

The specific games they’ve found are Armed and Dangerous, Aegis Wing and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time<\/a> \u2014 all of which were delisted on the Xbox Store some time ago \u2014 while Mars: War Logs has just been quietly delisted too.<\/p>\n

This happened again, this time with Aegis Wing and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. What’s happening \ud83d\udc40?<\/p>\n

As you can see, the account originally thought the Armed and Dangerous relist and delist might have just been a simple mistake, but now that it’s happened with multiple games, they’re starting to question whether it’s an intentional move.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, it’s anyone’s guess \u2014 this could be hinting at Xbox’s backwards compatibility plans for later in 2026, or it could be some behind-the-scenes tinkering that has no bearing on what’s in store for the future.<\/p>\n

It’s an interesting discovery nevertheless, and we’d certainly be pleased to see the likes of Armed and Dangerous and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time becoming purchasable again in 2026. Even if that never happens though, don’t forget that you can still access them via disc on Xbox One and Xbox Series X via backwards compatibility right now!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
