Fuze, the “unpredictable” heist thriller<\/a> starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Theo James, is now available to watch in the UK. With a twisty plot and a star-studded cast, this is a perfect weekend watch. <\/p>\n

From Hell or High Water and Relay filmmaker David Mackenzie, the film<\/a> takes place in London as an unexploded bomb from World War II is discovered. With the military and police joining forces, an evacuation takes place.<\/p>\n

This provides a useful distraction for a daring criminal operation, with a group of bank robbers attempting to use the evacuation order as cover to conceal their own heist. Naturally, there are plenty of twists and turns along the way.<\/p>\n

Featuring Sam Worthington and Gugu Mbatha-Raw in supporting roles, Fuze<\/a> premiered at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September, and is now finally available to watch in the UK after being released in cinemas today.<\/p>\n

Written by Ben Hopkins, the heist thriller is being distributed by Sky Cinema<\/a> in partnership with StudioCanal, which means it will stream<\/a> on Sky Cinema and NOW<\/a> following its theatrical release. <\/p>\n

Since its world premiere last year, Fuze has garnered a generally positive response from critics, with Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> currently reporting a more-than-solid approval rating of 84% from 32 reviews.<\/p>\n

“Much about what ensues is cheerfully hokey… But there is also a real joie de vivre to how Mackenzie and writer Ben Hopkins contrive twist after twist, making actors and genres collide as if playing with mismatched action figures,” noted The Financial Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Times<\/a> echoed this particular sentiment in its three-star review, writing: “The twists are many and some predictable, but the mood here is mostly, and unapologetically, guilty-pleasure hokum.”<\/p>\n

“[It’s] a gripping, unpredictable heist thriller that prizes momentum over depth,” wrote Sight & Sound<\/a> as they also called it “twisty and propulsive”, while Kermode and Mayo’s Take<\/a> called it “lively” and “watchable”.<\/p>\n

IndieWire<\/a> was also full of praise, remarking: “Fuze might not be exceptional enough to break out your finest celebratory shot glasses, but you\u2019re still unlikely to find another film that makes the field of urban construction look so exciting.”<\/p>\n

Fuze isn’t the only big release out in cinemas this week, with Kristoffer Borgli’s The Drama also coming out today. The film<\/a>, which stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, focuses on an engaged couple who go through a rough patch ahead of their wedding.<\/p>\n

Fuze is out now in cinemas, and will stream on Sky Cinema and NOW in the future.<\/p>\n
