Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> will aim to bounce back from a disappointing early exit in Miami when he competes at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters<\/a> as defending champion.<\/p>\n In preparation, the 22-year-old has been sharpening his game back home in Murcia alongside Spaniard Martin Landaluce<\/a>. The two trained at the Real Murcia Club de Tenis, mixing high-intensity sessions with the kind of camaraderie that reflects their growing bond.<\/p>\n Landaluce, who trains at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar, has spoken before about how valuable Alcaraz\u2019s guidance<\/a> has been during his rise.<\/p>\n And rise he has. Last week in Miami, the 20-year-old put together the best run of his young career, advancing into his first ATP Masters 1000 quarter-final and making history as the first player born in 2006 to reach that stage. He is now on the verge of the Top 100 at No. 106 in the PIF ATP Rankings.<\/p>\n Alcaraz leads the field as the top seed in Monte-Carlo, having won the title in 2026. If the 22-year-old does not reach at least the quarter-finals in the Principality, he would cede World No. 1 to Jannik Sinner<\/a> if the Italian reaches the semi-finals. The Spaniard will face Sebastian Baez<\/a> or Stan Wawrinka<\/a> in the first round, while Sinner takes on Moise Kouame<\/a> or Ugo Humbert<\/a>.<\/p>\n Alcaraz is 17-2 on the season, according to the Infosys ATP Win\/Loss Index. He completed the Career Grand Slam<\/a> at the Australian Open<\/a> and then won the ATP 500 title in Doha.<\/p>\n
