We had the rain delays, and I had to stay in the right headspace.

“It will be a great honour to play at Wimbledon. It’s not easy coming into the tournament as No.1 seed, but Dani seems to thrive and showed some real class this week. Annabel can be proud of her efforts as well. She has improved a lot in recent months and it’s great to see her confidence building. We are looking forward to another great Nationals event next week in the 18U competition.”

In the boys’ singles event, Sallu completed his impressive run through the tournament as a wildcard entrant, beating top seed Lorimer 7-6(6), 6-4 in an exciting final.

“It feels amazing,” said Sallu. “It’s a dream of mine to get this far and do so well in this tournament. Today was a tough day. We had some rain delays, it was really windy and I stuck to my task well. The conditions have been tough, particularly on Monday and during the weekend for qualifying. There have been some strong winds and it has been pretty cold.

“Their rankings may differ, but the boys have shown that they are all playing at a very similar level and that was highlighted by Neo Armus coming through qualifying and reaching the semi-finals and Isaac Sallu, a wild card, who won in an excellent final against Eric Lorimer.

“Some of the boys have played at a level that is significantly higher than their rankings and I hope that this is a springboard for them to take the positives from this tournament and play like this every week.

“It shows how important the Junior Nationals are for these boys and also what a great venue this is to stage the event. I’m convinced the boys are inspired to play above their ranking level by playing at this amazing venue and also, the significance of the prize of playing in the junior event at Wimbledon contributes to the players performing at such an excellent level.”

In the girls’ doubles event, Northamptonshire’s Leah Bush and singles finalist Wong beat Surrey’s Hermione Korpanec Davies and Middlesex’s Milica Milojevic 6-3, 6-1 in the final.

The boys’ doubles event was won by top seeds Lorimer and his partner Niall Pickerd-Barua from South Wales, as they beat singles champion Sallu and Suffolk’s Scott Watson 6-4, 6-1 in the final.

Dorset’s Daniella Britton and Yorkshire’s Isaac Sallu have been crowned as singles champions in the 2026 16U Lexus…

[38
101,118,56,54,55
0":"post-511449","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-tennis","8":"tag-sports","9":"tag-tennis","10":"tag-uk","11":"tag-united-kingdom","12":"tag-unitedkingdom
["GET
