\n\tAlthough Succession<\/a> ended three years ago, Brian Cox<\/a> is mitigating some behind-the-scenes Roy family drama.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Golden Globe winner recently praised his former onscreen son Jeremy Strong<\/a> as \u201ca wonderful actor\u201d after saying that his co-star\u2019s method<\/a> acting style was \u201cf*cking annoying<\/a>\u201d during a 2023 interview.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI don\u2019t want to go on about Jeremy, because I\u2019ve got into a lot of problems and he\u2019s begged me to stop talking about him,\u201d Cox explained to The Times<\/a>. \u201cHe\u2019s a good actor, Jeremy. He\u2019s a wonderful actor. It\u2019s just all the bollocks that goes with it. You watch children \u2014 they don\u2019t say, \u2018What\u2019s my motivation?\u2019 They just do it!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAmid the fourth and final season of HBO\u2019s Succession, Cox prefaced that Strong is \u201ca very good actor,\u201d adding that the rest of the cast \u201cis all okay with this. But knowing a character and what the character does is only part of the skill set. It\u2019s f*cking annoying<\/a>. Don\u2019t get me going on it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFellow method actor Daniel Day-Lewis even responded after Cox roped him<\/a> into the discussion.<\/p>\n

\n\tStrong previously explained that he practices \u201cidentity diffusion,\u201d as opposed to traditional method acting<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI think you have to go through whatever the ordeal is that the character has to go through,\u201d he told The New Yorker<\/a>, adding, \u201cIf I have any method at all, it is simply this: to clear away anything\u2014anything\u2014that is not the character and the circumstances of the scene. And usually that means clearing away almost everything around and inside you, so that you can be a more complete vessel for the work at hand.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor explained, \u201cTo me, the stakes are life and death. I take him as seriously as I take my own life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCox starred in Succession as Waystar RoyCo mogul and patriarch Logan Roy, for the show\u2019s four-season run from 2018 to 2023.
