\n\tSharon Stone<\/a> appeared on \u201cCBS Mornings\u201d (via The Daily Beast<\/a>) to promote her upcoming role in \u201cEuphoria<\/a>\u201d Season 3, widely regarded as one of the raciest shows on TV. But the Oscar nominee has a bone to pick with modern media when it comes to sex scenes<\/a> and nudity, mainly that it has all become too \u201cblatant\u201d and \u201charsh\u201d on screen. Stone now turns off sex scenes when they happen because they no longer leave anything to the imagination. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt wasn\u2019t even an entire frame of film,\u201d Stone said of her infamous nude scene in 1992\u2019s \u201cBasic Instinct,\u201d which ignited a media firestorm. \u201cAnd, so, people were desperately trying to figure it out. And I think that idea of, \u2018Oh, my God.\u2019 This hope, this wonder, this mystery, this intrigue, this yearning is something that is what all of our profound sexuality is based in.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSo often now, when sex scenes come on TV, I fast-forward. I don\u2019t want to see it,\u201d Stone continued. \u201cI don\u2019t want to have to go through all of this blatant, harsh sexuality. For me, it steals from my own imagination. And I prefer my yearning, mystery, desire. I want to keep that alive inside myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBasic Instinct\u201d turned Stone into a movie star and an international sex symbol. In her 2021 memoir, \u201cThe Beauty of Living Twice,\u201d Stone revealed she was misled into appearing nude in the movie. She had no idea about the nude scene until she saw a screening of the film alongside agents and lawyers.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat was how I saw my vagina-shot for the first time, long after I\u2019d been told, \u2018We can\u2019t see anything \u2014 I just need you to remove your panties, as the white is reflecting the light, so we know you have panties on,\u2019\u201d Stone wrote in the memoir. \u201cNow, here is the issue. It didn\u2019t matter anymore. It was me and my parts up there. I had decisions to make.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStone added that she went to the projection booth and confronted \u201cBasic Instinct\u201d director Paul Verhoeven by slapping him across the face.<\/p>\n

\n\tVariety\u00a0reported last month<\/a>\u00a0that Amazon MGM Studios\u2019 United Artists and Scott Stuber have acquired the rights to a reboot of \u201cBasic Instinct,\u201d with the original film\u2019s writer Joe Eszterhas returning to pen the script.\u00a0Stone threw shade at the project<\/a> when it was announced by saying: \u201cGo ahead.
