Interim coach Liam Finn has shared an update on Huddersfield Giants\u2019 search for a head coach, whilst also throwing his own hat in the ring.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s Finn who has taken on the day-to-day coaching responsibilities since Luke Robinson was dismissed<\/a> after the Round Five loss to Bradford Bulls.<\/p>\n

Finn had worked as an assistant under Robinson alongside former captain Leroy Cudjoe, who has retained his role as an assistant and is working in association with Finn.<\/p>\n

When speaking ahead of Saturday\u2019s game against York Knights<\/a>, Finn was asked about his own ambitions and if he\u2019d like to take on the role full-time.<\/p>\n

Answering diplomatically, he said: \u201cI do have aspirations to be a head coach, obviously I\u2019ve been one at a lower level [Fax and Dewsbury].<\/p>\n

\u201cI do want to be a Super League head coach one day. Whether this is the right time or not won\u2019t be up to me. The club have got a process to go through and I\u2019ll just keep doing that. I\u2019ll keep holding the reins until told otherwise.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finn was pushed further though and asked if he would want to chat with the higher-ups at the club, with Andy Kelly and Ralph Rimmer among those tasked with finding a new head coach.<\/p>\n

The interim coach responded: \u201cIf they want to have a chat with me, they know where I am. It\u2019s probably the wrong word to say, but yes, it\u2019s a difficult one to answer because, at some point, I do.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the minute, I\u2019m just concentrating on week to week.\u201d<\/p>\n

He was also asked if he\u2019d had any information on when an appointment would be made, responding simply:\u00a0\u201cNo, that\u2019s just left with Andy Kelly and the board. Me and Leroy and the staff will just crack on and keep doing what we\u2019re doing as long as we\u2019re asked to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
