The rollout wasn’t moving at a rapid pace, leaving users patiently waiting. If you are among them, well, here’s the good news you’ve been waiting for. Google is finally switching gears, as Gemini for Android Auto is finally seeing a wide rollout.

Google’s Gemini for Android Auto sees a wide rollout after a long wait

Many users are reporting on Reddit’s Android Auto sub that they’re finally seeing Gemini on Android Auto. This is a major upgrade, as it replaces Google Assistant, which, in all fairness, is a bit outdated compared to what Gemini is capable of. Things now become more conversational, rather than just commands. With just casual conversations, you can squeeze information out of Gemini or get things done during your ride, hands-free.

The biggest ability of Gemini is that it can tap into your Google apps and services to fetch results for users. Google uses an example of asking Gemini AI to check your email to find the address and navigate there. Additionally, users can also get place recommendations, notification summaries, and much more.

A major upgrade

That said, not everyone is seeing Gemini just yet. But going by the number of comments from the users who are seeing its appearance, it does look like a big rollout is in progress. One user comments getting Gemini when running Android Auto version 16.4.661034-release. Although it’s not clear if this is a requirement just yet.

Like with any new release, there seem to be some initial hiccups. Android Auto users who have tried Gemini have mixed opinions. It’s not entirely negative, but there are complaints about lost features and Gemini’s tendency to give long answers. But then, Google will most definitely improve the experience with updates over time, like always.

After announcing Gemini for Android Auto back in November last year, things really didn’t take off as one…

[16
554,179439,4331,2306,86,56,54,55
0":"post-513335","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-mobile","8":"tag-ai","9":"tag-andriod-auto","10":"tag-google-gemini","11":"tag-mobile","12":"tag-technology","13":"tag-uk","14":"tag-united-kingdom","15":"tag-unitedkingdom
["GET
