Ringo Starr<\/a>\u00a0has revealed his unique culinary tip for slowing the ageing experience.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Beatles<\/a>\u00a0drummer is preparing to release his 22nd\u00a0solo album \u2018Long\u00a0Long\u00a0Road\u2019, which sees him joined by\u00a0St. Vincent<\/a>,\u00a0Sheryl Crow<\/a>\u00a0and Billy Strings,\u00a0on April 24\u00a0via\u00a0UMe\u00a0(pre-order\u00a0your copy\u00a0here<\/a>).<\/p>\n

In a new interview with\u00a0Rolling Stone<\/a>, Starr, who will turn 86 in July, has opened up about how he keeps his energy up\u00a0to keep recording\u00a0and\u00a0touring new music.<\/p>\n

When asked what his secret was, he responded: \u201cWell,\u00a0you\u2019ve\u00a0got to eat more broccoli. All the good things about me, I blame broccoli\u00a0for.\u201d\u00a0Elaborating on his trademark catchphrase, Starr quipped: \u201cSo now I saw, peace and love and broccoli.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just last year,\u00a0Starr gave fans more insight into his idiosyncratic eating habits during an appearance on\u00a0Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/a>. He confirmed a\u00a0rumour\u00a0that he had\u00a0never eaten pizza, and added to audience gasps when he added, \u201cor a curry\u201d.<\/p>\n

He clarified that\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0\u201callergic to several items\u201d,\u00a0and that with pizza and curry, \u201cyou don\u2019t know what the fuck\u2019s in it.\u201d The gamble to try either dish is too great for him: \u201cI\u2019m strict with myself since it makes me ill immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The first taste of\u00a0new\u00a0album \u2018Long\u00a0Long\u00a0Road\u2019\u00a0arrived last month in the form of the single \u2018It\u2019s Been Too Long\u2019<\/a>,\u00a0co-written with T-Bone Burnett, who has produced the entire record, as he did with last year\u2019s \u2018Look Up\u2019 LP. Starr has said:\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m\u00a0blessed to have T Bone in my life right now and working with me on these records. After we did the last record, which I love listening to, this one just\u00a0sort\u00a0of happened. I like to say sometimes I make the right moves, like you can go left or right at any point, and one of the right moves was hooking up with T Bone for \u2018Look Up\u2019, and now for this one, which I\u2019m calling \u2018Long\u00a0Long\u00a0Road\u2019, because I\u2019ve been on a long\u00a0long\u00a0road.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ringo is also heading on the road in the US this summer, playing 12 dates in May and June. Last May, Keoghan discussed meeting Ringo in preparation for the role<\/a>: \u201cWhen I was talking to him, I couldn\u2019t look at him. I was nervous, like right now. But he\u2019s like, \u2018You can look at me. My job is to observe and kinda take in mannerisms and study him.
