A boy has been killed after a car in an apparent hit and run.<\/p>\n
Officers were called to reports a vehicle was involved in a collision with a group of boys \u2013 two riding a bike and another on a scooter \u2013 in Greenfield Road, Flitwick, near Luton at 11.50pm on Friday night.<\/p>\n
The driver had left the scene but a blue BMW with significant damage was found on a nearby street, police said.<\/p>\n
One of the boys was pronounced dead at the scene while the other two were taken to hospital and treated for serious injuries.<\/p>\n
A man and a woman, both in their 20s, have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving over the prescribed limit and driving above the specified limit for a controlled drug.<\/p>\n
Detective Sergeant Shona Searle, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire serious collision investigation unit, said: \u201cFirst and foremost our thoughts are with the family of the boy who has lost his life in this incident, as well as the families of the two other boys who were injured.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are currently following several lines of inquiry to establish the circumstances around the collision and are asking for anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dash cam footage, doorbell footage or CCTV to get in touch as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
