Although they had previously stunned Stade Francais back in 2014, the Welsh team were given little chance of causing an upset ahead of kick-off, with the hosts third in the Top 14 and Tiatia&#8217;s men second from bottom in the URC.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">However, having been pegged back by a resurgent Stade side after going 17-0 up, the Dragons dug deep and won the contest all over again with a superb performance seeing them claim a scalp as former Wales prop Jones crashed over late on.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Speaking after the game, Foursans-Bourdette was in disbelief at the result, as he tore into his side&#8217;s display and admitted &#8220;I can&#8217;t believe we lost to the Dragons&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;Frankly, it&#8217;s a huge disappointment,&#8221; <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbyrama.fr\/2026\/04\/05\/challenge-cup-je-nen-reviens-pas-quon-ait-perdu-contre-les-dragons-louis-foursans-bourdette-atterre-par-lelimination-du-stade-francais-13311017.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">he told Midi Olympique<\/a>. &#8220;I even think what we did is almost shameful. We thought we had a group of 35-40 guys capable of wearing the jersey at events like this. In the end, we didn&#8217;t deliver.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;It was a great opportunity to create some healthy competition, to get everyone involved\u2014the reserves, the fringe players\u2014and to give those who play regularly a rest. It creates a dynamic, because everyone plays, everyone wears the jersey. And we missed it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;It was our responsibility to go as far as possible. Even if it&#8217;s only <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbyrama.fr\/rugby-a-xv\/challenge-cup\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">the Challenge Cup<\/a> , a competition that many don&#8217;t necessarily respect, a final in Bilbao and a title, that leaves a mark on a team for life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;Frankly, I can&#8217;t believe we lost to the Dragons. No disrespect to them, we could have done much better. I think they had everything to gain and nothing to lose.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;We were playing at home. We arrived at 1.30 pm, maybe a bit sluggish, still digesting\u2026 Frankly, I don&#8217;t think we respected the jersey today. Strategic or technical errors, fine. But the intensity we brought right from the start is the problem. Starting a match 17-0 down, that shouldn&#8217;t happen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Admitting he was angry at what had unfolded, the fly-half added: &#8220;Some players, like Pierre Huguet, who was coming back from injury and hadn&#8217;t played for a very long time, deserved better.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;We should have given him a victory at Jean-Bouin, in front of his family and friends. It makes me angry. We\u2019ve not had much of either of them all season, if I\u2019m honest. They are brilliant.
