A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found dead in a property in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

Officers were called to a property at Drakemire Avenue in Castlemilk around 8.10pm on Thursday following a report of concern for a man.<\/p>\n

Craig Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene. Following a post-mortem examination, his death is being treated as murder.<\/p>\n

In a statement provided through Police Scotland, his family described him as a \u201cmuch loved\u201d man.<\/p>\n

They said: \u201cCraig was much loved by his family and friends and he will be missed. We\u2019d ask that our privacy is respected at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Investigating officers have established that Mr Hamilton was last seen on Saturday, March 28, and are seeking any members of the public who were in the Drakemire Avenue area between Saturday, March 28 and Thursday, April 2.<\/p>\n

Detective Chief Inspector Jennifer McCulloch, of Police Scotland\u2019s Major Investigations Team, said: \u201cOur thoughts remain with Craig\u2019s family and friends at this extremely difficult time, and we are continuing to support them as the investigation progresses.<\/p>\n

\u201cExtensive enquiries are ongoing and we have a dedicated team of specialist officers working through all lines of enquiry to establish the full circumstances. This includes officers going door to door in the local area, as well as thorough analysis of the available CCTV footage from the area.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom our enquiries so far, we have established Craig was last seen on Saturday, 28 March.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the Drakemire Avenue area between Saturday, 28 March and Thursday, 2 April and saw anything suspicious to please come forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, may be important so please contact us as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chief Inspector Allistair Macdonald said: \u201cWe understand that this will be concerning for the local community but would like to reassure the public that extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn increased police presence will remain in the area over the coming days. Anyone with concerns, or information, can approach these officers.\u201d<\/p>\n

An online portal has been set up to encourage members of the public to submit information directly to officers.<\/p>\n
