I’m a Celebrity…South Africa viewers have already aired their frustrations with an “insufferable” and “annoying” returning star<\/a>. The second season of the spin-off show<\/a> has seen a fresh batch of former contestants return to camp<\/a> for the chance to be crowned the second-ever ‘Legend’ of the jungle.<\/p>\n

Tonight’s episode saw the celebrities arrive in South Africa<\/a> as well as take part in their first trials, split into two teams to compete against each other, and avoid being placed in a remote camp with limited facilities.<\/p>\n

Among this year’s contestants are Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, Emmerdale’s Adam Thomas, Coronation Street icon Beverley Callard, and professional boxer David Haye.<\/p>\n

David has already divided opinion after attempting to take over decision-making duties when picking celebrities for the teams and then later banishing them to the secondary camp, despite Adam and Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts being named team captains.<\/p>\n

After his team won a challenge and could choose a member of the rival team to banish, David opted to send Beverley, commenting, “It’s survival. We’ve got to eat.”<\/p>\n

He also suggested she would not do well in challenges, annoying Beverley, who retorted, “You are going to pay for that decision.”<\/p>\n

Later in the secluded camp, she confessed to fellow soap star Adam that she had considered “chinning” the sports icon due to his comments and general demeanour during the task.<\/p>\n

And she wasn’t the only one, with several viewers taking to social media to call out David.<\/p>\n

One user<\/a> wrote on X, “What has David Haye got against women over 60 may I ask,” while another added, “<\/p>\n

A third<\/a> posted: “Oomfg can this David pure shut up tryna be in charge all the time, oh my goddddd.”<\/p>\n

Some said they needed him to “go home first”, while others branded the star “annoying” and “insufferable.”<\/p>\n

“I didn\u2019t like David\u2019s attitude the first time round, he\u2019s not doing much to change my opinion this time round so far!” one person wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Another said<\/a>: “David is very lucky it\u2019s not public vote cos he\u2019d be gone first. Out to make enemies with everyone & it\u2019s not a good look.”<\/p>\n

David first appeared on I’m a Celebrity in 2012, coming in third place.<\/p>\n

His season was won by Charlie Brooks, with Ashley coming in second place.<\/p>\n

Other castmates in the spin-off series include Harry Redknapp, Jimmy Bullard, Sir Mo Farah, Seann Walsh, and Sinitta.<\/p>\n

ITV has confirmed that the next latecomer contestants in the series will be TOWIE star Gemma Collins and Red Dwarf legend Craig Charles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I’m a Celebrity… South Africa<\/a> season 2 premiered tonight (6 April) on ITV1 and ITVX, with I’m a Celebrity… Unpacked airing afterwards on ITV2 and ITVX, hosted by Sam Thompson and Kemi Rodgers.<\/p>\n
