Hull FC head coach John Cartwright will leave the club at the end of the 2026 season. The Black and Whites have confirmed that Cartwright will remain in charge for the final 20 rounds of the current Super League season before departing the club.<\/p>\n

Naturally, early confirmation of Cartwright’s departure gives Hull plenty of time to appoint a new head coach for the 2027 season and beyond. Hull Live has been told that that process has accelerated over the last couple of days, and the hope is to finalise their latest appointment in the very near future. That appointment, as exclusively reported by Hull Live since, is expected to be Steve McNamara.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Black and Whites appointed Cartwright ahead of the 2025 season, with the club finishing seventh in his first year in charge, their highest finish since 2020. To date, he has a 48% win record, having won 19 of his 39 games so far.<\/p>\n

A full club statement from CEO Richie Myler read: “Hull FC<\/a> can confirm that head coach John Cartwright will depart the club at the conclusion of the 2026 Super League season.<\/p>\n

“John joined the club during a challenging period and has played an important role in restoring stability and competitiveness on the field. The board would like to place on record its sincere thanks for John’s contribution during his time with the club.<\/p>\n

“John will continue to lead the first-team squad for the remainder of the current campaign, and has the support of the full club as we work together to finish the season as strongly as possible.<\/p>\n
