A British procedural starring a Marvel<\/a> actor and boasting a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes is soon to be added to Netflix, where it’s currently in the “worth the wait” section.<\/p>\n

Originally airing for two seasons between 2014 and 2015 on ITV, British crime thriller series Prey follows two criminal cases involving police officers in the Manchester area, with DS Susan Reinhart (played by Rosie Cavaliero) investigating both. <\/p>\n

Season 1 focuses on the case of DC Marcus Farrow, played by Grace star John Simm, who strives to prove his innocence after his ex-wife and one of their sons are found murdered. <\/p>\n

Season 2 takes on a different storyline, with prison officer David Murdoch (Philip Glenister) falling victim to a blackmail as he accompanies inmate Jules Hope (MyAnna Buring) on a routine hospital visit.<\/p>\n

His pregnant daughter Lucy (Sammy Winward) calls him, informing him she’s been kidnapped and he’s to follow the captors’ directions if he wants to see her alive again.

Prey also stars a number of beloved British stars, including Anastasia Hille as DCI Andrea MacKenzie, Doctor Strange’s Benedict Wong as DS Ashley Chan, Ralph Ineson as DCI Mike Ward, EastEnders<\/a>‘ Heather Peace as Abi Farrow, and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett as DC Richard Iddon, to mention a few.<\/p>\n

On Rotten Tomatoes, season 1 of Prey holds a critics’ score of 100% out of 9 reviews. <\/p>\n

A watch for “fans of British procedurals” (via the Wall Street Journal<\/a>), the show was also described as “a near-perfect blend of well-crafted characterizations within the context of a credibly gripping murder case” (via the San Francisco Chronicle<\/a>).<\/p>\n

“A fairly entertaining British crime series” for The New York Times<\/a>, Prey also received acclaim on its home turf, with The Daily Mail<\/a> writing: “Prey isn’t without its faults…. But the big question was, did it make the viewer want to tune in next week to see watch the story unfold? And the answer to that is a resounding ‘yes’.”<\/p>\n

Prey will stream on Netflix UK soon. An exact release date is yet to be announced.<\/p>\n
