Speaking from Budapest, US Vice-President JD Vance has said some Iranian officials are “lying about even the fragile truce that we\u2019ve already struck”.<\/p>\n
He said some people in Iran are “very favourable” to the proposed truce, but others “are basically lying about what we have accomplished militarily” and “about the nature of the agreement”.<\/p>\n
“This is why I say this is a fragile truce. You have people who clearly want to come to the negotiating table and work with us to find a good deal, and then you have people who are lying about even the fragile truce that we\u2019ve already struck,” he said.<\/p>\n
Vance concluded his remarks by warning the Iranian leadership: “The president \u2026 has told me and he\u2019s told the entire negotiating team, the secretary of state, the special envoy, Steve Witkoff, he said: go and work in good faith to come to an agreement. \u2026<\/p>\n
