Tributes have been paid for a golfing legend in Cornwall who took on and beat some of the country’s best.<\/p>\n

Mike Reynard was a top amateur in the 1990s, finishing as runner-up at The R&A Amateur Championship in 1995, as well as representing England over 30 times in various competitions, playing alongside the likes of Justin Rose, Paul Casey and Luke Donald.<\/p>\n

Mike, who was Truro-based, won three Cornwall Men’s Amateur Championships and has been a recent star of the Cornwall Senior Men\u2019s Team, helping the county lift the Senior Men\u2019s County title in 2024 for the very first time, while also representing them in the 2025 County Finals.<\/p>\n

He was an Honorary Member of Moseley Golf Club (Worcestershire) where he grew up, moved to Cornwall in the early 2000s, where he worked as a chef at his own pub and restaurants.<\/p>\n

In 2019, he was given one of the three invites for the Farmfoods European Legends Links Championship at Trevose, making what was only his second European Senior Tour appearance \u2013 and he returned in 2021 with a top-20 finish.<\/p>\n

In a statement, England Golf said: “England Golf is saddened to learn of the passing of Mike Reynard.
