Warrington Wolves veteran Ben Currie has signed a new two-year contract to extend his stay at the club until the end of 2028.<\/p>\n

Making his debut for the Primrose and Blue in 2012, Currie has made over 320 appearances for the club, and earlier this season reached a landmark total of 100 career tries for the club.<\/p>\n

A former England and Ireland international, the 31-year-old has flourished in a positional switch over the past few seasons, moving from the back row to loose forward seamlessly.<\/p>\n

With 283 Super League appearances to his name, Currie sits fifth in Warrington\u2019s all-time list, 26 behind Paul Wood and 109 behind Ben Westwood in first.<\/p>\n

Whilst it is unlikely he will claim top spot, his new contract could see him rise up that table, and will already go down as one of the club\u2019s Super League icons.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s great to get it over the line,\u201d Currie said in an interview to the Warrington YouTube Channel<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s a process I didn\u2019t want to take too long\u00a0because there\u2019s not really anywhere else I want to be at the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cReally happy for me and my family to stay at the club for another two years, exciting times\u2026 I came here when I was 16 years old in the academy\u00a0and since then it\u2019s felt like home pretty much.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve obviously moved in now as well, had kids over the time I\u2019ve been here,\u00a0so it\u2019s definitely my home now.\u00a0I\u2019d say really comfortable and I wouldn\u2019t want to be anywhere else at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Warrington Wolves man signs new contract until end of 2028<\/p>\n

Currie was one of 10 players to go into the new season off-contract at the club, and his new deal means that there are now eight players with futures left to resolve.<\/p>\n

George Williams was another, however he has been confirmed to join the NRL next year, though his next club is not officially confirmed.<\/p>\n

Props\u00a0James Harrison, Joe Philbin\u00a0and\u00a0Luke Thomas\u00a0are all in a contract year. Thomas earned his first Super League start of 2026 against Leigh last week, whilst Harrison and Philbin are having improved years in 2026.<\/p>\n

James Bentley\u00a0only signed a one-year deal at the club following his exit from Leeds. The back rower will be looking to extend his time at the club after a delayed start due to injury.<\/p>\n

Half-back pair\u00a0Marc Sneyd\u00a0and\u00a0Oli Leyland\u00a0will have decisions to make throughout this season. Sneyd turned 35 in February so is coming to the end of his career, whilst Leyland has been unfortunate given his time in a Wire shirt has largely consisted of him being out with an ACL injury.<\/p>\n

Lastly, centre\u00a0Toby King\u00a0and hooker\u00a0Sam Powell\u00a0are out of contract at the season\u2019s end. With the likes of Zack Gardner and Aaron Lindop coming through, King\u2019s place isn\u2019t guaranteed however he is still a quality player on his day. Powell made his first Super League appearance of the year against the Leopards and could be set for an extended run in the side given Jordy Crowther\u2019s fractured cheekbone.<\/p>\n
