{"id":521080,"date":"2026-04-09T08:27:10","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T08:27:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/521080\/"},"modified":"2026-04-09T08:27:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T08:27:10","slug":"eput-mental-health-ward-has-cqc-rating-downgraded-over-safety","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/521080\/","title":{"rendered":"EPUT mental health ward has CQC rating downgraded over safety"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Stuart Dunn, the CQC deputy director of operations in the East of England, said inspectors were &#8220;concerned to find leaders at 439 Ipswich Road weren&#8217;t always acting quickly on safety concerns raised by their staff or the people in their care, although they did respond quickly when we raised them&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Staff had reported safeguarding incidents affecting people&#8217;s physical or sexual safety, but leaders hadn&#8217;t thoroughly investigated or reported them to the local authority or CQC,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Because they failed to do so, they didn&#8217;t learn from them or make changes, which left some people at risk of repeated harm.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">EPUT&#8217;s rating as a whole remains as &#8220;requires improvement&#8221;.
