\n The seal, named Daisy May Cooper after the comedian and actress, was rescued from Norman\u2019s Bay in Pevensey by medics from British Divers Marine Life Rescue on April 4.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\n The comedian is best known for co-creating and starring as Kerry Mucklowe in the BBC Three sitcom This Country.\n<\/p>\n
\n She was taken to the RSPCA\u2019s Mallydams Wood Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre, where she is now having regular fluid therapy and treatment for a wound to her back flippers and an eye injury.\n<\/p>\n
\n On a Facebook post from Easter Sunday of Daisy, the RSPCA said: “Daisy May Cooper is waving happy Easter to you all.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Sarahjo Reese, a supporter of the rescue centre, said on social media: “You guys are just truly amazing.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Thank you so much for your dedication and care.\n<\/p>\n
\n “She is beautiful and I hope she gets more beautiful by the day with your unending care and love.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Other seals rescued have been named after comedians such as Romesh Ranganathan, Miranda Hart, Jack Dee, and Greg Davies.\n<\/p>\n

\n RSPCA wildlife supervisor Jess O\u2019Doherty has previously warned that people should keep their distance from seals resting on beaches, because even healthy animals need space to rest undisturbed.\n<\/p>\n
\n The RSPCA has said its Mallydams Wood wildlife centre in East Sussex saw a 134 per cent rise in baby wildlife intake from 450 in 2023 to 1,056 in 2024.\n<\/p>\n
