{"id":521573,"date":"2026-04-09T14:38:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T14:38:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/521573\/"},"modified":"2026-04-09T14:38:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T14:38:08","slug":"england-duo-boost-for-saints-van-graan-changes-six","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/521573\/","title":{"rendered":"England duo boost for Saints, Van Graan changes six"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bath Rugby and Northampton Saints collide at the Rec in the Investec Champions Cup quarter-finals as they bid to continue their European journeys.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s everything you need to know following the announcement of the two teams.<\/p>\n<p>Bath team news<\/p>\n<p>Johann van Graan has made several changes to the run-on XV that beat Saracens last weekend in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetrugby.com\/tournament\/rugby-champions-cup\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Champions Cup<\/a> round of 16, starting in the front row where Vilikesa Sela takes over from Archie Griffin at tighthead prop with Tom Dunn retained at hooker and Beno Obano at loosehead.<\/p>\n<p>Quinn Roux and Charlie Ewels combine in the second row once again, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetrugby.com\/team\/bath\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bath<\/a> boss has made alterations to his loose trio, which now features Guy Pepper, Sam Underhill, and Miles Reid, with Josh Bayliss falling out of the matchday 23 and Alfie Barbeary moving to the bench.<\/p>\n<p>Ben Spencer skippers the team from scrum-half with Finn Russell at number 10, whilst Cameron Redpath and Ollie Lawrence are named in the centres, the former taking over from Max Ojomoh.<\/p>\n<p>Henry Arundell shifts to the right wing as Will Muir replaces Joe Cokanasiga in the starting lineup, while Tom de Glanville takes over at full-back with Santi Carreras included on the bench.<\/p>\n<p>Van Graan has opted for a 6-2 bench split in favour of the forwards, who are Kepu Tuipulotu, Francois van Wyk, Thomas du Toit, Ross Molony, Ted Hill and Barbeary. The speedster replaces James Ramm in the starting XV that beat Castres last week, with captain George Furbank named at full-back and Tommy Freeman on the right wing.<\/p>\n<p>Rory Hutchinson and Tom Litchfield switch roles as the latter is included amongst the replacements, while the former partners Fraser Dingwall in the centres. Anthony Belleau drops out of the matchday 23 with Fin Smith fit for the quarter-final and partners Archie McParland in the halfbacks.<\/p>\n<p>Henry Pollock shifts to the number eight jersey as Tom Pearson moves into the starting XV with Josh Kemeny completing the loose trio.
