Doja Cat<\/a> has defended Madonna<\/a> against trolls, saying she\u2019s \u201ctickled\u201d by people who \u201cfeel threatened by an older woman who can do her job forever\u201d.<\/p>\n

The popstar and rapper took to TikTok to discuss claims that Madonna was \u201ctoo old\u201d to be on stage, saying she was \u201ctickled and bothered\u201d by such comments. \u201cIt\u2019s interesting to me because you\u2019re telling a musician who makes music, who performs it as a job, to stop doing it?\u201d Doja began her TikTok. \u201cI\u2019m trying to wrap my head around that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Doja then asked whether these comments arose because the pop titan was \u201can older woman who feels sexy\u201d, adding: \u201cIs that why you want her to get off stage? Because you feel threatened by an older woman who can do her job forever?\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on to suggest that critics of Madonna might\u00a0have \u201csomething personal happening in there\u201d and that \u201cnobody else knows it and only you do\u201d.\u00a0\u201cIs that why you\u2019re upset?,\u201d she asks in the video, before laughing and commenting: \u201cI\u2019m sorry, it\u2019s not funny.\u201d<\/p>\n

Going on to mockingly cry and wipe away tears, Doja ended the video by saying that \u201cit is said\u201d, and that she would cry alongside Madonna\u2019s haters.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s just the way it is,\u201d she continued. \u201cPeople like to pick on me. I don\u2019t take it as personally as I used to, or it doesn\u2019t bother me as much as it used to. But if you have an opinion in this day and age, you have to be prepared to take a beating.\u201d<\/p>\n

Madonna has since confirmed she is working on new music, announcing her return to Warner Records<\/a> last September and calling the forthcoming record \u2018Confessions On A Dance Floor Part 2\u2019.<\/p>\n

The new album will see her reunite with the producer of the original \u2018Confessions on a Dancefloor\u2019, Stuart Price, whom she already\u00a0revealed she had been working with back in December<\/a>. Though no official release date has been set, the album is scheduled for release this year, making our list of NME\u2019s most anticipated albums of the year.<\/a><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, William Orbit has said he\u2019s written a \u201csuccessor\u201d to Madonna\u2019s classic \u2018Ray Of Light\u2019<\/a>, but he\u2019s had \u201cnil response\u201d from her.<\/p>\n
