A north-east Wales healthcare company has relocated to a new headquarters in Wrexham as it marks 20 years in business.<\/p>\n

Broughton-based Healthcare Matters has moved to Llay Industrial Estate, marking what it describes as a \u201cnew chapter\u201d following significant growth.<\/p>\n

The family-run firm, which supplies equipment and services to the NHS, care providers and people at home, has doubled its turnover to \u00a34.6 million and grown its workforce to 53 staff.<\/p>\n

Managing director Adam Spiby said the move reflects both the company\u2019s expansion and its ambitions for the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur growth has always been organic,\u201d he said. \u201cIt all boils down to treating people the way we want to be treated, providing the best service and the best solutions for living, that\u2019s what our incredible workforce does.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis north-east Wales community means a lot to us \u2013 we champion local, we support local charities, and 95% of our staff come from the area.\u201d<\/p>\n

The business was founded by Adam\u2019s father, Phil Spiby, after he suffered a serious heart attack aged just 53. The experience inspired Phil to leave his high-pressure corporate role to follow his dream of launching his own business.<\/p>\n

Since 2008 the business has developed partnerships with local health boards, local authorities and the private care sector.<\/p>\n

Initially supplying specialist beds and mattresses, the firm has since expanded to offer a wide range of medical equipment, including hoists, chairs, ramps and bathing systems, alongside a 24-hour repair service.<\/p>\n

The new site will also include a dedicated training space for healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, district nurses and carers.<\/p>\n

Jack Cusack, head of sales at Healthcare Matters said: \u201cIt\u2019s vital that healthcare providers feel confident using equipment to ensure a comfortable and dignified service for patients.<\/p>\n

\u201cA key part of this training is a hands-on demonstration, giving professionals the opportunity to see, use and fully understand the equipment in a realistic setting.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve already trialled these sessions and the feedback has been fantastic, with attendees highlighting increased confidence and improved understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n

The company is also developing a new digital resource aimed at supporting vulnerable people living independently.<\/p>\n

As well as expanding its services, Healthcare Matters will use its new headquarters to expand its Lean expertise, which focuses on reducing waste and maximising productivity.<\/p>\n
