My family are really settled and we’re loving our time at the club,” said Burgess, who is in his first head coach appointment.

“We’ve had a couple of early discussions. I have a great relationship with Simon (Moran, owner), so it’ll be one of those where we’ll go for dinner one night and we’ll talk something out.

“But for now we’re just getting on with business. He’s a very passionate Warrington fan. I respect who he is. He’s a top guy.”

And then asked if he wants the England job, which has become vacant after Shaun Wane stepped away earlier this year, he said: “I’m passionate about English rugby league and England as a country, and especially the World Cup is in Australia.

“I’ve actually not thought about it too deeply.
