You can\u2019t hate these guys enough\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/order-order.com\/2026\/03\/17\/nearly-a-million-self-employed-brits-face-new-quarterly-tax-returns\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pointless regime<\/a> has as of this month begun pulling people in for the first time. This year it is for those earning over \u00a350,000 \u2013 next year that drops to \u00a320,000\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Guido\u2019s FoI Unit has obtained information about the large, ragtag HMRC team administering the rules.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the start of the 2026\/27 financial year, 158 fully MTD-trained full-time equivalent (FTE) advisors will support the introduction of Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>53 full time equivalent advisers make up the dedicated MTD Customer Support Team, which \u201cprovides detailed guidance and support for MTD queries, including processing exemption requests.\u201d on top of that 105 \u201cfront-line advisers\u201d will provide support to customers as required, based on demand. The total estimated annual salary costs for these roles in 2026\/27 is \u00a36,508,013\u2026<\/p>\n<p>65 of those advisers are on temporary contracts.
