Racehorse Gold Dancer has died after winning the Mildmay Novices’ Chase. The horse, who was ridden by Paul Townend picked up an injury jumping the final fence in the Grade One race at Ladies Day.<\/p>\n
At the last fence, Gold Dancer landed flat on his hind legs. Townend quickly dismounted after the horse crossed the finish line.<\/p>\n
He received treatment from a large team of medical staff<\/a> but the Racing Post has announced the sad news of his death.<\/p>\n Gigginstown’s Eddie O\u2019Leary confirmed the worst following Gold Dancer’s victory. He said: “He\u2019s been put down. He broke his back. It\u2019s terribly sad for the horse.
