Wakefield Trinity boss Daryl Powell has confirmed that prop forward Caius Faatili is still struggling through injury, forcing him to miss out this week.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Faatili originally suffered an injury last week in training as he attempted to tackle young half-back Myles Lawford.<\/p>\n

That issue cost him a place in the side that travelled to Castleford Tigers, and after not being named in the 21-man squad this week he will be missing for a second game running.<\/p>\n

Powell has no concern that the Australian powerhouse will be out for any prolonged period, with Faatili set to be available next week.<\/p>\n

The strong thing about Trinity as it stands is the amount of players in good form, so losing the 23-year-old, is not a huge problem going into their Challenge Cup game with Wigan Warriors.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just taking a little bit longer than we thought, Powell said to the press on Friday. \u201cIt\u2019s not bad, he\u2019ll be right next week I think.<\/p>\n

Explaining why the injury isn\u2019t as much of a concern as it would be at other times in the season, the boss said: \u201cTray [Lolesio] did a good job last week.\u00a0I think if anybody\u2019s not 100% fit, then I tend to go with the guys who are flying at the moment, who are feeling good.<\/p>\n

\u201cI probably could have played Caius, he\u2019s telling me he could have played.\u00a0Anyway, it is what it is.\u00a0It\u2019s a long season and I\u2019m not risking anybody at this point.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wakefield Trinity boss provides positive Jazz Tevaga update<\/p>\n

Another man who missed the win over Castleford is Jazz Tevaga, the Samoan international who joined the club from Manly Sea Eagles this off-season,<\/p>\n

The ball-playing middle wasn\u2019t risked last weekend due to a minor knock, with Powell wanting him to be fully fit for the game this weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s trained pretty well,\u201d Powell said. \u201cHe\u2019ll be back in there with a chance of playing this week.\u00a0As I say, he\u2019s been out there today and looked pretty sharp.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite their two absentees, Wakefield\u2019s pack were in sensational form against the Tigers, with Caleb Hamlin-Uele, Jay Pitts, Isaiah Vagana and Lolesio all making well over 100 metres in the middle of the field.<\/p>\n

Trinity\u2019s pack will have to produce similar numbers this week if they are to progress through to the last four of the Cup, as they take on a Wigan side known for their dominant pack.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like we\u2019re improving,\u201d Powell said after the side picked up their fifth straight win at the weekend. \u201cThere are some really good things in our game.<\/p>\n

\u201cDefensively, we\u2019ve been pretty solid.\u00a0Our second halves of games have been outstanding.\u00a0I think we\u2019re going well.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we\u2019re in a good place.\u00a0I think the boys are enjoying being out there on the field and challenging themselves.\u00a0We\u2019re not getting ahead of ourselves, that\u2019s for certain.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhilst we\u2019re going well, we\u2019re recognising that there\u2019s always things that we can improve.\u00a0I still think there is [room for improvement].\u00a0I thought last week was a good performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re coming up against one of the stiffest challenges in the competition on Sunday.\u00a0Regardless of whether they\u2019ve got a couple of players missing or not, I don\u2019t think that matters.\u00a0They\u2019ve got quality everywhere on the field.\u201d<\/p>\n
