Caoimhin Agyarko’s final eliminator fight for the IBF world light-middleweight title against Brandon Adams in Las Vegas on Saturday has been cancelled.<\/p>\n
The 29-year-old was set to headline the bill against Californian Adams, but confirmed on Instagram on Friday that the bout has been called off as his opponent was declared “medically unfit to fight”.<\/p>\n
“Absolutely heartbroken to announce my fight tomorrow night is off. Unfortunately my opponent fainted this morning, was rushed to hospital and was declared medically unfit to fight,” Agyarko posted.<\/p>\n
“Firstly, I hope Brandon Adams is okay and makes a speedy recovery. Secondly my dreams have been shattered, I put my heart and soul into this camp\/fight, I trained extremely hard, I was in the best shape of my life, 14 hard weeks being away from my family, girlfriend and friends,” he continued.<\/p>\n
“Thousands of pounds spent now I don’t get to have my American dream fight, I don’t get paid and I don’t know what happens next, but what I do know is I will be world champion one day, my mind is bulletproof, I’ve had setbacks many of times and I will not let this stop me chasing my dreams.<\/p>\n
“To my supporters that have travelled to Vegas to watch me perform I can only apologise. To my sponsors, I can only apologise, I appreciate the support.
