\n The fatal road traffic collision, where a 71-year-old woman died, happened just after 10am this morning on Thornton Road.\n<\/p>\n
\n The 72-year-old taxi driver who was involved in the collision was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.\n<\/p>\n
\n He was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.\n<\/p>\n

\n A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: \u201cPolice are investigating after a fatal road traffic collision on Thornton Road in Bradford.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cOfficers were called at 10.17am (11 April) by\u00a0the ambulance service to reports of a serious road traffic collision involving a taxi on Thornton Road, Bradford.\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cDespite medical attention sadly, the 71-year-old woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cThe driver of the grey Toyota Pirus taxi, a man aged 72, was arrested at the scene on suspicion causing death by dangerous driving.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cHe was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries not believed to be life-threatening.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cThe road\u00a0remains\u00a0closed this afternoon whilst enquiries are carried out at the scene.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n Officers from the Major Collision Enquiry team are appealing for anyone who\u00a0witnessed\u00a0the collision or who may have dash cam footage to come forward.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
