A man whose car broke down on a busy road has slammed his new ‘Temu Range Rover’.<\/p>\n

Alan Lee, from Birmingham, only just purchased the China<\/a>-made Jaecoo 7 PHEX Luxury last month, and started to find issues with the \u00a335,000 car<\/a> right away.<\/p>\n

Days after getting his hands on the plug-in hybrid, which is around \u00a310,000 less than the cheapest Range Rover<\/a>, the 37-year-old noticed that the headlights weren’t working properly – they flickered every time he went round a corner.<\/p>\n

The operations boss was then dropping his four-year-old off at nursery on 2 April when his car ‘completely stopped’<\/a> on a 60mph road.<\/p>\n

“I am a family man, I liked an SUV, and I saw a lot of good reviews on this car. It was the highest-selling car in November, everything was pointing towards giving this car a go and being an early adopter,” Alan said.<\/p>\n

“For the price point, it matched other vehicles in that range, but this one came with a lot more tech.”<\/p>\n

After breaking down, however, Alan says ‘people need to be aware of what is happening with these cars<\/a>‘.<\/p>\n

It comes after the UK<\/a> Government recalled around 7,500 Jaecoo 7 models due to a faulty CU (Electronic Control Unit) wiring harness clip that may cause unexpected stalling.<\/p>\n

“I think there needs to be more regulation and checks on these new cars,” he added.<\/p>\n

“Some Jaecoo models have already been recalled; clearly, my model and others are not fit for the road.”<\/p>\n

When the car ‘died completely’ on a ‘busy road’, Alan said ’20 different warning lights’ started flashing.<\/p>\n

He called 999 and police were able to cut off that lane and tow the car to a recovery compound<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Alan said Jaecoo will sort out the issue and that he has been offered a courtesy car in the meantime.<\/p>\n

“I called Jaecoo to tell them I need a courtesy car, and I still don’t have one,” the dad said.<\/p>\n

“I do not want another vehicle from them. I will not be buying from them again.<\/p>\n

“They clearly have no idea what they are selling, more and more of these vehicles are having issues.”<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Jaecoo, said: “Jaecoo UK can confirm that it takes aftersales service seriously, and has provided the customer with a Jaecoo courtesy car.<\/p>\n

“It also believes that the customer is kept well updated via the leasing and \/ or finance company involved.”<\/p>\n
