The former Emmerdale star shares his hopes for the future as he marked the end of one chapter.<\/p>\n

Kelvin Fletcher cast his eyes towards the future following the conclusion of “one chapter”. During the latest and final episode of Fletcher’s Family Farm, which airs on Sunday, Kelvin Fletcher outlined his plans for the future and his ambition to one day produce Fletcher’s oats.<\/p>\n

The former soap star, who recently revealed he had “no regrets” after failing to produce edible oats for sale,<\/a> gave viewers an update on his progress.<\/p>\n

“Across the fields and forests of our farm, and with a new season on the horizon, we’re getting ready for our first event of the year, a farmers’ market,” Kelvin enthusiastically revealed.<\/p>\n

“We’ve invited some local producers to come and sell their wares alongside us in the barn, and for once, we’re ready to go, which gives me time to crack on with other jobs around the farm before we open our gates tomorrow,” reports the Mirror<\/a>. “Today, I’m taking delivery of some special homegrown feed that will give our livestock a protein boost.”<\/p>\n

Kelvin clarified that their spring oats fell short of the standard required for porridge but were suitable for animal feed. Clutching a bag of oats, he continued, “Somewhere in there are oats from our farm, and farms locally and maybe around the country. But we’ve all played a part in producing this, so there’ll be other farms with this feed that have got a bit of our oats in.<\/p>\n

“So yeah, still a success,” he beamed before adding, “We were hoping for porridge, but a lack of rain this summer meant our first crop didn’t plump up enough before harvest. So animal feed, it is.”<\/p>\n

“It feels quite a proud moment that our little farm has somewhat kind of gone into the supply chain to produce something for many other farms,” the former soap star added.<\/p>\n

“It’s these little moments that you can’t even imagine or picture when you first start out. I’d never have thought that we’d be going into the food chain, the supply chain. I didn’t know what to expect.”<\/p>\n

Kelvin looked delighted as his cows got stuck into the feed, remarking, “Five-star review from Ray and Crowther.”<\/p>\n

Casting his mind to the future and what lies ahead, the father of four declared. “That’s not the end of oats. It’s just the beginning. It might be the end of that particular chapter. But oats are still yet to be conquered, and they’re there for the taking. This is oats part one, mark my words, we’ll be having Fletcher porridge oats, I don’t doubt that for a second.”<\/p>\n
