Kit Green<\/a> (Jacob Roberts<\/a>) isn\u2019t the type of bloke to go around hitting people in Coronation Street\u2026 unless they\u2019re stalking his mum<\/a>. But the law is the law. Will Lisa Swain<\/a> (Vicky Myers<\/a>) look the other way when her friend and colleague attacks Mal Roper (Tim Treloar)\u2026 again?<\/p>\n

Kit Green isn\u2019t a great advert for the Weatherfield police department. The morally ambiguous plod has a shady track record of playing fast and loose with the ends to the justify the means \u2013 like the time he planted evidence to frame Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) for Lauren Bolton\u2019s (Cait Fitton) murder<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Or that time he blackmailed Beth Tinker (Lisa George) into leaving Weatherfield<\/a> after 13 years on the cobbles. Or the time he let Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) go to prison<\/a> for the arson he committed on a local shop, while he went on to join the police force.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s call a spade a spade. Kit Green is basically a bent copper.<\/p>\n

Needless to say, his \u2018unorthodox\u2019 approach to law enforcement has caused him to clash with the dogged DS Lisa Swain, who has repeatedly called him out for \u2018shady policing\u2019. Admittedly her attitude has softened somewhat since Kit had a hand in saving her fiancee Carla Connor (Alison King) from the bunny-boiling Becky Swain (Amy Cudden<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Surely, even Lisa wouldn\u2019t clutch her pearls about the odd bit of vigilante violence where Mal Rope is concerned. The unhinged electrician has definitely definitely suffers from dodgy wiring. <\/p>\n

When Bernie Winter<\/a> (Jane Hazlegrove<\/a>) met Mal while drowning her sorrows over the death of Billy Mayhew in the Chariot Square Hotel, he became so obsessed with her that he took a job in Weatherfield as an electrician just to be closer to her.<\/p>\n

But Bernie was never going to leave her devoted husband Dev Alahan<\/a> (Jimmi Harkishin<\/a>) for the unstable cable guy. She rebuffed his advances, and Mal did not take it well.<\/p>\n

Neither did Kit. Not once Bernie told him all about Mal\u2019s terrifying campaign of harassment against her. So it came as no surprise to anyone that the mystery attacker who assaulted the crazed stalker and put him in hospital was none other than Weatherfield\u2019s poundshop Batman, Kit Green\u2026 although to be fair, Mal\u2019s heart attack did most of the work.<\/p>\n

Like the upstanding officer of the law he is, Kit initially allowed the blame to fall on his dear old mum, who was arrested after earlier threatening to \u201ckill\u201d Mal. He even lied to his girlfriend,\u00a0Sarah Platt<\/a> (Tina O\u2019Brien<\/a>), before eventually confessing the truth to her in confidence.<\/p>\n

Then Mal regained consciousness, and when Kit paid him a visit<\/a>, the haywire electrician revealed that he knew Kit was the one who assaulted him.<\/p>\n

It looks like Kit\u2019s worries are over after this week\u2019s episodes, where Mal seemingly ran away to Inverness after being hounded out by Jodie Ramsey<\/a>(Olivia Frances-Brown<\/a>) spamming his business with negative reviews<\/a>.<\/p>\n

No such luck.<\/p>\n

Upcoming episodes sees Mal\u2019s sinister return to the Cobbles, with dire consequences for Bernie\u2019s nearest and dearest, prompting Kit to take drastic action\u2026<\/p>\n

Feeling unwell and having returned early from his bat watch meeting to find they have no electricity, Roy gives Jodie the day off and goes up to bed. Jodie heads out\u2026 as Mal watches from across the street. What\u2019s his plan?<\/p>\n

We soon find out, when Carla approaches Dev and Bernie outside the caf\u00e9, only to discover smoke pouring out of Roy\u2019s flat.\u00a0Everyone believes believing Roy is at the bat meeting. But he\u2019s in the flat, lying unconscious, surrounded by a blanket of deadly smoke. Will he be found in time?<\/p>\n

After the explosive events of the blaze in Roy\u2019s Rolls<\/a>, Lisa finds Kit in the police station and informs him that Mal Roper is accusing him of assault.<\/p>\n

At the station, Lisa tells Kit that Mal Roper is accusing him of assault.\u00a0Acting innocent, Kit does his best to style it out and assures Lisa that Mal is an unhinged weirdo who has it in for anyone connected to Bernie.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Will Lisa believe Kit\u2019s story?<\/p>\n
