ABBA<\/a>\u00a0have celebrated the \u201cincredible milestone\u201d of welcoming the four millionth visitor to\u00a0their\u00a0Voyage\u00a0live show<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The groundbreaking concert\u00a0residency sees\u00a0digital CGI versions\u00a0of the four members of ABBA performing in the purpose-built ABBA Arena in East London, and\u00a0since launching in 2022, four million people have been in attendance.<\/p>\n

Voyage passed the one million visitor mark in April 2023<\/a>, and as of this weekend, it will have quadrupled that number.<\/p>\n

The band have said:\u00a0\u201cReaching\u00a0four\u00a0million visitors is an incredible milestone for ABBA Voyage, and a testament to the fans who have travelled from across the world to be part of this experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom those visiting for the first time to the many who return\u00a0again and again,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0their energy and passion that\u00a0bring\u00a0the concert to life every night. To see audiences continue to embrace the concert and the joy of our music is truly special, and\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0been incredible to watch the concert become a global phenomenon.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the four years since it launched, ABBA Voyage has staged 1,415\u00a0concerts with audiences collectively spending more than\u00a0141,500 hours\u00a0at the show. \u2018Dancing Queen\u2019 alone\u00a0has played for\u00a04,800 minutes.<\/p>\n

More than five million journeys have been made on the DLR train service to the venue at Pudding Mill Lane, with audiences travelling from as far as Dunedin, New Zealand, 11,873 miles away. There have been 7,075 costume changes in total, while the concert\u2019s live drummer has burned 700 calories each night.<\/p>\n

NME\u00a0attended the show in 2022, and in a glowing five-star review<\/a>, wrote:\u00a0\u201cAgeing rockers and poppers are bound to imitate the idea, but\u00a0it\u2019ll\u00a0be a struggle to come close to the experience of ABBA Voyage.\u00a0We for one\u00a0welcome our new\u00a0ABBAtar\u00a0overlords, if only for giving these songs back to us in\u00a0a totally new\u00a0and joyful way. As the digital Anderson concluded: \u2018Without a song or a dance, what are we? That is the question.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In 2023,\u00a0Bj\u00f6rn Ulvaeus\u00a0sat down with NME to reflect on the show\u2019s success<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s amazing \u2013 it has surpassed any dream I could have ever had,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019ve somehow reached new generations by some miracle. I don\u2019t know how, but there you are. [2008 musical movie] Mamma Mia, I\u00a0suppose\u00a0played a role in that. There are new generations coming along.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the future of the show, he added:\u00a0\u201cWe hope to stay in this venue for as long as we can. We hope\u00a0they\u2019ll\u00a0have us for many years, and we might build other replicas of this in other places: Asia, Australia, North America.\u00a0There are lots and promoters and cities that we\u2019re talking to at the moment about that.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach one would take at least two years to build, but there will be announcements towards the end of this year or the beginning of next about where we actually are going.
