A woman has been arrested after a hit-and-run crash in South Bristol.<\/p>\n

Police and paramedics were called to reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a car being driven down Fulford Road in Hartcliffe<\/a> on Saturday (April 11), but the driver left the scene before police arrived.<\/p>\n

The police said the pedestrian was taken to hospital, but thankfully her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.<\/p>\n

The road was closed for several hours on Saturday afternoon as police investigated the circumstances around the incident.<\/p>\n

Later, a car matching the description of the one involved in the incident was stopped a few streets away, on Whitland Road in Hartcliffe, and a woman driving it was arrested.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police said: \u201cEmergency services were called to a collision between a car and pedestrian at about 12.20pm on Saturday 11 April in Fulford Road in Bristol.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe pedestrian was taken to hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The car, described as a blue Mini Cooper, was not at the scene when officers arrived,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cA vehicle matching the description was stopped by officers in Whitland Road about an hour after the collision and a 37-year-old woman was arrested. She has been released on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.<\/p>\n
