Manchester United are set up to be among the real winners in the Premier League this weekend \u2013 unless there is an unwelcome sting in the tail.<\/p>\n

Manchester United take on Leeds<\/a> in the Premier League on April 13, finally returning to action after a 24- day break<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Playing on a Monday night at this stage of the season can present some challenges, because if our rivals all won, it would have increased the pressure. For instance, an Aston Villa victory would have knocked us down to fourth.<\/p>\n

Instead, results have largely gone in our favour, and Manchester United remain in third place<\/a> without even playing a game.<\/p>\n

While Liverpool did record a 2-0 win over Fulham, they were the only side placed between fourth and eighth to register a victory.<\/p>\n

Chelsea lost 3-0 at home to City, while Aston Villa could only manage a 1-1 draw away at Nottingham Forest.<\/p>\n

Among the chasing pack, Everton and Brentford played out a 2-2 draw, while Newcastle\u2019s hopes of a late run are over after a 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace.<\/p>\n

Manchester United remain in third place, ahead of Aston Villa with a superior goal difference of eight goals.<\/p>\n

Now it is over to Michael Carrick\u2019s Manchester United<\/a> to get the job done against Leeds.<\/p>\n

With the top five places qualifying for the Champions League<\/a>, Manchester United will still be heavily favoured even with a defeat to Leeds.<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s not what we want, or expect.<\/p>\n
