A van got wedged beneath a railway bridge in Stockport on Sunday (April 12) blocking off the area before recovery was called to the scene.<\/p>\n
In an image shared on social media, the white transit appeared to have become stuck under the low bridge, at the junction with Highfield Road and Heathbank Road in the Cheadle Hulme area during the afternoon. The bridge is clearly labelled as 2.2m high with signage above.<\/p>\n
But it is not the first time a vehicle has become stuck beneath the railway bridge, close to Cheadle Hulme railway station. The incident on Sunday (April 12) was almost identical, as another white van ended up crammed beneath the bridge.<\/p>\n Another van became stuck under the railway bridge last February(Image: Alan Sheldon)<\/p>\n After the photo was shared on social media, local residents said vehicles becoming stuck at the spot ‘happens regularly’. The post was captioned: “Not sure how much more signage they needed! Avoid Highfield Road for a bit!”<\/p>\n One person said: “Should\u2019ve gone to Specsavers,” as another wrote: “I live near this bridge and see it quite often.” A third commented: “This happens far too regularly! Scary really.”<\/p>\n The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were not called out to the incident.
