The python was pulled from Babbs Mill Lake in Solihull <\/p>\n

A dad and his son were enjoying a day out ‘exploring’ when they sadly spotted a dead python floating in a Solihull<\/a> lake.<\/p>\n

The dad, who chose not to be named, spotted the unusual reptile sighting at beauty spot Babbs Mill Lake<\/a> on Monday, April 6.<\/p>\n

He managed to pull the huge yellow snake from the water.<\/p>\n

The dad said he was unsure if the deceased animal had been “dumped or escaped”.<\/p>\n

He told BirminghamLive<\/a>: “I took my son to the park where we found the snake.<\/p>\n

“I got it out of the lake. It was quite far in. It was dead.<\/p>\n

“Some guy said it was a piece of rope but I said, ‘no way, I can see scales’. So I got a big stick to pull it to the side and took it out.<\/p>\n

The python was pulled from Babbs Mill Lake in Solihull <\/p>\n

“We’d just gone for an explore around Babbs Mill, as we quite often do.”<\/p>\n

He said the tragic discovery was reported to Solihull Council<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Images of the snake were shared in a Facebook neighbourhood group.<\/p>\n

Reacting to the sighting, Marie Shelby commented: “Very sad. You don’t just throw something away.<\/p>\n

“I hope that this isn’t what it seems and it’s just an accident.”<\/p>\n

Agreeing, Jake Withephotos said: “Someone’s pet has either got out or been dumped. Either way, it’s a shame.”<\/p>\n

Heather Jones added: “What a beautiful creature.
