On this occasion, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/UKinBulgaria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the British Embassy in Bulgaria<\/a> is organizing a traveling exhibition about the connection between William Gladstone and the April Uprising. The exhibition is titled \u201cTwo Lions \u2013 One Cause\u201d (How the Bulgarian uprising and William Gladstone tested Britain\u2019s political conscience).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"519\" data-end=\"1020\">\u201cWith our exhibition, we want to show Bulgarians what the impact of the uprising was on the United Kingdom &#8211;\u00a0on public opinion and on British politics. Gladstone wrote the book Bulgarian Horrors and the Question of the East, which had a huge influence on public opinion and was published in about 200,000 copies in just three months,\u201d Nathaniel Copsey, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, told the\u00a0Bulgarian National Television.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1022\" data-end=\"1588\">The exhibition will open on April 15 in Sofia at Vivacom Art Hall (5 Oborishte Street), where it can be seen until May 2, after which it will travel to Koprivshtitsa. In June, it will be shown in Veliko Tarnovo and Ruse, and in August &#8211; in Varna. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1022\" data-end=\"1588\">The exhibition is interactive and includes video materials, conversations with a digital William Gladstone, photographs, and documents from the era of the April Uprising.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1590\" data-end=\"1617\">Editor: Miglena Ivanova<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"This month\u00a0marks 150 years since the April Uprising.
