John Cartwright has confirmed some of his Hull FC team selections for Thursday night’s Super League game against St Helens.<\/p>\n
However, the coach has admitted there are one or two things still to finalise, with Yusuf Aydin still needing to pass his final checks in Wednesday’s captains run. The expectation is the forward will do just that, joining Brad Fash, who Cartwright confirmed will return to the side, as two welcome options in the pack.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, James Bell is set to play at loose-forward in the absence of John Asiata, with the vice-captain out for three months at least with a hamstring injury. Impressing in his last two appearances, Logan Moy is also set to play at full-back again, with Zak Hardaker set for the halves again or the back row position.<\/p>\n
“We’ve been skinny in the middle all season,” Cartwright told Hull Live. “Yusuf was really good in his early season games. He’s very fit and that’s a big bonus early in the season, when perhaps some other guys need a few games to get fit, Yusuf goes out as fit as you can get.<\/p>\n
“That’s been a big advantage for us. A couple of weeks out won’t affect him. He’s got to get through captains run. He’s probably pushed himself a bit hard but he assures me he’ll be okay.<\/p>\n
“That’s the best thing about Yusuf – he knows where he is good for the team and it’s in all of those effort-based areas that a lot of people probably don’t recognise as much as his coaches and his teammates. But he relishes that job. It’s hard work but it’s part of his game that he relishes and he knows how important it is.”<\/p>\n
As for the rest of the side, Cartwright said: “We’ve got Aidan Sezer, and a big reason we signed Belly was to be able to fill a job for when Johnny wasn’t there. He will get his opportunity there (at loose-forward). I’ve been really happy with Harvie Hill, Ligi Sao, and Sam Lisone.<\/p>\n
“Zak Hardaker will be there and wherever he is there, it doesn’t matter where, you’ve always got a chance. Cade Cust, too, I’ve been happy with him. We’ve still got the depth and nucleus of a really good team.”<\/p>\n
And on Moy, Cartwright added: “He’s been really good. He plays to his strengths.
