It hasn\u2019t been an easy run for Patis in Lower Manhattan. The kosher caf\u00e9 and bakery chain opened its Financial District location at 160 Broadway just over a year ago<\/a>, stepping in to fill a long-empty void left by the pandemic-era closure of Milk N\u2019 Honey. Now that location has closed as well, leaving FiDi once again without a sit-down kosher caf\u00e9 option.<\/p>\n

The closure is the latest in a string of location losses for the chain, which has been working through a Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring since mid-2024. Patis has also shuttered its Times Square outpost on 8th Avenue, its Bryant Park location on West 37th Street, and its Midtown East spot near Grand Central \u2014 all of which had been popular stops for the weekday kosher lunch crowd.<\/p>\n

Despite the contraction, Patis still operates a meaningful number of locations across the New York and New Jersey area. If you\u2019re a regular, here\u2019s where you can still find them.<\/p>\n

Upper West Side (Amsterdam Avenue) \u2014 The original Manhattan flagship, anchoring the UWS kosher corridor on Amsterdam near 93rd Street. Still going strong.<\/p>\n

Upper East Side (Lexington Avenue) \u2014 The UES location on Lexington in the high 80s\/low 90s, serving the Carnegie Hill crowd.<\/p>\n

Brooklyn<\/p>\n

Crown Heights (Kingston Avenue) \u2014 On the main drag of Crown Heights, one of the more vibrant Patis locations and a go-to for the neighborhood\u2019s Lubavitch community.<\/p>\n

Midwood (Avenue M) \u2014 Serving Flatbush on Avenue M, a heavy-traffic neighborhood for kosher dining in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

New Jersey<\/p>\n

Teaneck (Cedar Lane) \u2014 Well-positioned on Cedar Lane, the center of kosher life in Bergen County.<\/p>\n

Lyndhurst (Ridge Road) \u2014 The original Patis location, where the brand was built. Still the heart of the operation.<\/p>\n

Lakewood (Madison Avenue) \u2014 Inside the Gourmet Glatt plaza, serving one of the largest Orthodox communities in the country.<\/p>\n

What to Know<\/p>\n

All Patis locations are certified by the Orthodox Union, and are Chalav Yisrael, Pas Yisrael, and Kemach Yoshon. Hours vary by location, so it\u2019s worth a quick call before making a special trip, especially on Fridays.<\/p>\n

The menu across locations features Patis\u2019s signature French-inspired pastries and artisan breads alongside sandwiches, soups, salads, and coffee. Think croissants, sourdough, focaccia-based sandwiches, pizza, and a rotating seasonal pastry case. It\u2019s a solid dairy option whether you\u2019re grabbing a quick espresso or sitting down for lunch.<\/p>\n

For anyone who relied on the FiDi or Midtown locations for weekday lunch, the loss is real. The UES and UWS locations remain the most accessible Manhattan options, and the New Jersey locations continue to be strong anchors for their communities.<\/p>\n
