\"'Everyone<\/a><\/p>\n

The first full-length Street Fighter<\/a> movie trailer is here, and it\u2019s every bit the raucous and ridiculous popcorn fest we hoped for.<\/p>\n

We get a tiny taste of the 90s-tinged plot, which focuses on Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruiting Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) for the World Warrior Tournament.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Directed by Kitao Sakurai of Bad Trip fame, the movie definitely has a pulpy, neon drenched vibe to it. There\u2019s one particular shot of Cammy (Mel Jarnson) firing a rocket launcher from the back of a car, which is \u201cgiving\u201d Harley Quinn, as the kids would say.<\/p>\n

There are tons of references to the games here. We briefly see Ken beating up a car, while Zangief (Olivier Richters) performs his trademark Spinning Piledriver move at one point.<\/p>\n

We also get our first proper look at 50 Cent\u2019s Balrog, as well as a very brief tease of Jason Momoa\u2019s Blanka right at the end.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s clear the producers have a deep respect for Capcom\u2019s fighting game franchise, as we hear the use of speech samples from Street Fighter 2<\/a> and there\u2019s even a tongue-in-cheek reference to Chun-Li\u2019s infamous \u201cthunder thighs\u201d.<\/p>\n

While we\u2019re not expecting Oscar winning performances from any of the high-profile names here, we\u2019re hoping for a ridiculous romp around the world, filled with exciting martial arts sequences and some silly one-liners.<\/p>\n

It looks like Sakurai has understood the assignment, and we\u2019re now counting down the days until the movie\u2019s 16th October debut.<\/p>\n
