The m4 metrobus route has been extended from today (Thursday) and will now serve the Brabazon development where thousands of new homes and an arena are currently being built.<\/p>\n
From Thursday, April 16 all services will stop at Runway Park Avenue East and Brabazon Park in both directions on the route between Cribbs Causeway and Bristol city centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n After Runway Avenue East the m4 will join Hayes Way at the Blenheim roundabout and continue to Cribbs Causeway. The m4 will then return along the same route, in the East-bound direction before joining Gipsy Patch Lane at Titan Road and continuing to Bristol Parkway.<\/p>\n Brabazon was named on the UK government\u2019s list of seven proposed \u2018new towns\u2019 last month, as part of the push for more homes to be built.<\/p>\n The \u2018new town\u2019, which even has its own website, is the site of the long-awaited Aviva Arena and is set to gain its own railway station later this year. It sits on the former Filton<\/a> Airfield in South Gloucestershire<\/a>.<\/p>\n Helen Godwin, Mayor of the West of England, said: \u201cFollowing the exciting news about Brabazon\u2019s potential new town status, it is great to see the growing community better connected to the metrobus network.<\/p>\n m4 bus route map<\/p>\n \u201cPutting in more transport options as we continue to build new homes is crucial, just like the new schools planned for this area.<\/p>\n \u201cI know local residents have been eager for this route change.
