Welsh acting legend Anthony Hopkins has been drawing crowds today during filming in a Gwynedd<\/a> town.<\/p>\n

The two-time Oscar winner is starring in A Visit To Grandpa\u2019s, an adaptation of the coming of age story by Welsh author and poet Dylan Thomas.<\/p>\n

This is being filmed in and around the town of Dolgellau<\/a> with road closures in place this week.<\/p>\n

Ian King, of photography.wales, captured the famous Welshman in the town.<\/p>\n

He wrote on his Dolgellau Facebook<\/a> page: “Sir Anthony Hopkins filming in Dolgellau this afternoon. I saw him later in the Marian car part talking with people and having photos taken.”<\/p>\n

Cllr Linda Morgan was one of those who got to meet the star today.<\/p>\n

She said: “I am really pleased they have chosen Dolgellau for the filming. Very exciting put Dolgellau on the map again.<\/p>\n

“Very well organised. It was great to meet Sir Anthony Hopkins.”<\/p>\n

The plot of the movie centres on a young boy who spends a summer on a remote Welsh farm with his charismatic grandfather, discovering a world of imagination and mischief.<\/p>\n

Directed by D.J. Caruso, the film stars Anthony Hopkins as the eccentric grandfather. The cast also includes Artie Wilkinson-Hunt as the boy, Aimee-Ffion Edwards as the mother, Aneurin Barnard as The Hunter, and Celyn Jones as Mr. Griff.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the film, Anthony Hopkins said: \u201cThis is a powerful and profoundly beautiful story, one that allows me to return to my Welsh roots while exploring the remarkable vision and prose of Dylan Thomas. It is a privilege to collaborate once again with DJ, with whom I share a deep creative bond.\u201d<\/p>\n
