{"id":535578,"date":"2026-04-17T07:45:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T07:45:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/535578\/"},"modified":"2026-04-17T07:45:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T07:45:08","slug":"static-mammogram-machine-at-crawley-hospital-helping-attendance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/535578\/","title":{"rendered":"Static mammogram machine at Crawley Hospital helping attendance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Dr Olga Strukowska, consultant radiologist and director of West Sussex screening service, believes this is largely down to local engagement which &#8220;we have been doing it for quite some time&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Prior to this new static site opening in Crawley screenings took place solely in mobile units.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Rebecca Corbett, quality and improvement manager for West Sussex Brighton and Hove breast screening service, said this resulted in those who struggled to access those units having to go to Worthing Hospital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">For women from places such as Crawley, Horsham and East Grinstead, this was a &#8220;considerably long way&#8221; to travel, she said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;We recognised that we weren&#8217;t offering an equitable screening service, so we looked at what we could do.
