Chelsea have not progressed since they decided to part ways with Enzo Maresca, and owner Behdad Eghbali has now admitted the decision went against the club\u2019s protocol.<\/p>\n

Maresca<\/a> departed Stamford Bridge on New Year\u2019s Day, and since then the club have fallen outside of the Champions League spots under the leadership of Liam Rosenior<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Italian hinted at a fractured relationship with the owners and sporting directors of the club, making very public outbursts at the situation facing him at the club.<\/p>\n

Who are we choosing? Liam Rosenior? Or one of these TWO \ud83d\udc40 <\/p>\n

Many theorised this was behind the decision to sack the manager, and now Eghbali<\/a> has admitted that they did not want to make the decision, after putting a policy in place that did not support making changes mid-season.<\/p>\n

He said via The Athletic<\/a>: \u201cOur policy has been no in-season changes. You certainly review and hold not only the manager, but the management team, the sporting team, accountable, but typically in the summers, not in season.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not a change we wanted to make. It\u2019s a change that had a bit of a negative impact in the season, when you\u2019re changing systems and personnel, and it\u2019s one we\u2019ve got to fight our way out of.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe still have six matches in the Premier League, and an FA Cup semi final coming up. So hopefully the story of this season hasn\u2019t been written yet, and you\u2019ve got a lot to fight for. In my perspective, when you get punched in the face, you\u2019ve got to fight back, you\u2019ve got to stand up and fight. And it\u2019s going to hopefully show a lot about the character of this squad.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the perspective is stability, and frankly, getting that stability on the manager side is one of the things we haven\u2019t done right yet, and it\u2019s something we\u2019re striving to improve on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reports have stated there are plans in place for the club to tweak their transfer strategy, however it is going to take a lot of work to turn around the opinions of some corners of the fanbase.<\/p>\n

With Todd Boehly<\/a> seemingly taking a step back from the public eye over the last 12 months, it is Eghbali who is brunting the force of Chelsea fans right now.<\/p>\n
