{"id":536115,"date":"2026-04-17T14:44:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T14:44:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/536115\/"},"modified":"2026-04-17T14:44:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T14:44:07","slug":"major-update-provided-on-mike-tysons-exhibition-against-floyd-mayweather","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/536115\/","title":{"rendered":"Major update provided on Mike Tyson&#8217;s exhibition against Floyd Mayweather"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new development has been revealed ahead of the proposed <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/mike-tyson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mike Tyson<\/a> vs Floyd Mayweather exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>Tyson last appeared in the ring back in November 2024, when he made a controversial professional comeback and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/boxing\/articles\/ceqxvxnyq7lo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">lost to YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in one of the most talked about affairs of recent years<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, despite underwhelming in that fight, \u2018Iron Mike\u2019 seemed poised to make another return, when he confirmed a non-sanctioned bout with Mayweather.<\/p>\n<p>Although, Mayweather has since gone on to confirm fight dates with Mike Zambidis and Manny Pacquiao, but <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/pacquiao-team-on-mayweather-breach\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">legal and contractual issues has cast doubt upon both of those events<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now, amid uncertainty regarding Mayweather\u2019s contractual obligations, Tyson\u2019s advisor Amer Abdallah told <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/hYoOlpMVHIg?si=hHIn-l6YhCUR7NJJ\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Boxing King Media<\/a> that, whilst talks and discussions have indeed taken place, there is no signed agreement for a fight between Mayweather and Tyson as of yet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, that is not definitely happening. It is pending a lot of different things that are happening and different hurdles that have to be overcome.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs there interest from Mike? Today, there is, but the longer that this thing plays out, maybe Mike will just say, \u2018I just don\u2019t want to do this anymore\u2019. It\u2019s up to Mike and how he wants to do this.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is nothing definite, guaranteed, concrete. Was there talks? Is there discussions? Of course there is. It will be up to the promoter to be able to finalise those things and then for Mike to be able to come back and say, \u2018this is the direction that we are headed\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It was initially reported that Mayweather-Tyson would take place this month in the Democratic Republic of Congo, but it seems as though a new fight date and venue will not be announced for some time, if ever.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A new development has been revealed ahead of the proposed Mike Tyson vs Floyd Mayweather exhibition.
