Avengers: Doomsday spoilers follow.<\/p>\n

Marvel has finally premiered the first full trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, and it is packed to the rafters with characters and major hype moments, including more from the return of Chris Evans’ Captain America.<\/p>\n

He’s looking pretty scraggly in the trailer, but obviously isn’t the old man that was seen at the close of Endgame, so what’s going on there?<\/p>\n

Well, Evans appeared on stage at CinemaCon yesterday (16 April) after the premiere of the trailer (it’s an in-person exclusive, for now<\/a>) – and while he didn’t explain the how, he did go into why he’s back.<\/p>\n

“You know, I said I would only come back if there was a real reason. And in Doomsday, there is a very real reason that these heroes need Steve Rogers,” he said (via TikTok<\/a>).<\/p>\n

“Now it was 15 years ago that that [Robert Downey Jr] and I began sparring as these characters”, he continued, referring to Tony Stark\/Iron Man. “We fought together, we fought against each other, sometimes on the same team.”<\/p>\n

Now referring to Downey’s new role of Doctor Doom, Evans said: “But this guy, I love you Downey, but this guy… I don’t like him. I don’t like him.”<\/p>\n

“Them’s fighting words,” Downey replied, to which Evans got up in his face and said: “We’re doing this again”. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo then pulled the pair apart, telling them to “keep it on the set”.<\/p>\n

IGN<\/a> was one of the publications that attended CinemaCon and saw the trailer, which has been called<\/a> by other attendees “amazing” and “magic”.<\/p>\n

The publication explained that the trailer begins with Charles Xavier\/Professor X (Patrick Stewart) at the X-Mansion, looking at a bright light in the sky as an ominous voiceover plays.<\/p>\n

There’s a fight between Shang-Chi and Gambit, while Mystique turns in Yelena. The Fantastic Four meet the Avengers and Thunderbolts, and later the Wakandans. Ant-Man also kisses his daughter, Cassie, on the head.<\/p>\n

The trailer ends with Thor attacking Doom with Stormbreaker to no avail, but then Steve Rogers turns up and summons Mjolnir.<\/p>\n

Avengers: Doomsday is released in cinemas on 18 December.<\/p>\n
