{"id":537544,"date":"2026-04-18T09:42:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-18T09:42:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/537544\/"},"modified":"2026-04-18T09:42:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-18T09:42:07","slug":"cole-palmer-sends-304-word-message-to-chelsea-over-red-devils-links","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/537544\/","title":{"rendered":"Cole Palmer sends 304-word message to Chelsea over Red Devils links"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cole Palmer insists he has \u201cno plans\u201d to leave Chelsea in the near future after holding talks with the owners amid Man Utd transfer links.<\/p>\n<p>The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move for the England international after rumours that Palmer has become <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/cole-palmer-disillusioned-at-chelsea-as-man-utd-prepare-record-150m-swoop\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u2018disillusioned\u2019<\/a> at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>There were even reports earlier this year that Palmer \u2018would be open to a sensational transfer to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/manchester-united\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Manchester United<\/a>\u2018 in the summer transfer window as he is \u2018missing his hometown of Wythenshawe\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Man Utd have bigger priorities than signing Palmer, with the Red Devils targeting two midfielders, a left-winger and a left-back this summer, but they are unlikely to turn down the opportunity to sign the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/chelsea\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chelsea<\/a> superstar.<\/p>\n<p>However, Palmer has now calmed speculation by coming out and dismissing reports that he could leave Chelsea soon but warned the club that they must match his ambitions.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/football\/2026\/apr\/17\/cole-palmer-chelsea-premier-league-transfer-speculation-england-world-cup\" target=\"_blank\">Man Utd-linked Palmer told The Guardian<\/a>: \u201cEveryone just talks.<\/p>\n<p>READ: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/premier-league-best-centre-backs-defenders-25-26\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Top 10 Premier League centre-backs: Van Dijk still imperious, no Saliba<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I see it I just laugh. Obviously Manchester is my home. All my family are there, but I don\u2019t miss it. Maybe I\u2019ll miss it if I don\u2019t go for three months or something. But then when I get home I think there\u2019s nothing there for me anyway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve got no plans to move from Chelsea. We\u2019ve still got a lot to play for. We\u2019ve got the FA Cup semi-final and if we finish in a Champions League spot it puts us in a good position to sign players that we need.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe spoke to the owners and they\u2019re sure of the players that are gonna do it. Reece won\u2019t sign a six-year contract if he\u2019s not spoken to the owners and the directors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMe and Reece spoke a lot. About things we need, players we need to sign and how things need to be. I don\u2019t think we\u2019re far off.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you sign the right players in the right positions and the right characters and profiles, I think we have more than enough quality to compete and be more consistent than we\u2019ve shown over this season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBringing a manager in mid-season, you have no pre-season, hardly have time to train. You\u2019re just focusing on games.
