Casualty<\/a> spoilers follow for Saturday\u2019s episode (18 April), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn\u2019t yet aired on TV. This article contains storyline details that some viewers may prefer to avoid.<\/p>\n

Casualty has confirmed which of the ED team has tragically died, in an episode where two characters are in huge danger<\/a>. At the start of today\u2019s episode, a flashforward scene showed the Holby staff congregate in a church to say goodbye to one of their own, but as Stevie Nash stood up to say a few words, who they were mourning remained under wraps\u2026<\/p>\n

Two weeks earlier, Iain was rushing his pregnant ex-partner Faith to the hospital after her waters broke two months early while the pair were arguing over a shared custody agreement<\/a>. Faith\u2019s son Luka travelled with them to the hospital and panicked when his mum started bleeding heavily and fell unconscious.<\/p>\n

At the ED, Stevie treated her best friend and decided to deliver Faith\u2019s baby herself<\/a>, seeing as the neonatal department was full. Faith\u2019s daughter was born successfully, but as Flynn and Jodie saw to the premature baby, Faith started bleeding heavily again and collapsed. <\/p>\n

Thankfully, Faith\u2019s pulse strengthened and she woke up as her baby started breathing. But Stevie realised that part of the placenta was attached to Faith\u2019s uterus, so organised for her to be taken to theatre.<\/p>\n

As the baby continued to breathe on her own, Faith and Iain were still in a tricky place with their relationship. Faith underwent surgery, but back in the ED, she started bleeding once more, and Stevie was forced to do a complicated procedure in theatre.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, following her leaving the rotation at Holby<\/a>, Kim\u2019s dad Wei visited the hospital and told her former mentor Stevie that his daughter didn\u2019t want to be a doctor anymore. <\/p>\n

Concerned about his friend, Matty went to Kim\u2019s house to check on her, but found her lying unconscious inside. A HEMS crew, led by Dylan, was sent to the house, while Matty found Kim\u2019s journal and discovered the true extent of her eating disorder<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wei told shocked Stevie about Kim\u2019s anorexia nervosa, then Flynn told them both about Kim\u2019s condition as she arrived at the hospital. The team came together to help save Kim\u2019s life, as Matty and Stevie clashed by her bedside.<\/p>\n

Both Faith and Kim were in serious conditions, and when Iain went to see Faith after her operation, for a while it looked like she had died. However, it was revealed that she had made it through the surgery when she squeezed his hand after he made an emotional romantic confession.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in resus, Kim, who was in multi-organ failure, told Matty she didn\u2019t want to die. Matty stepped up to intubate Kim \u2013 heartbreakingly, the final procedure on his checklist he made at the start of the rotation. <\/p>\n

However, Matty\u2019s successful procedure was of no use, as Kim then started bleeding from her mouth. Despite Matty\u2019s desperate attempts at CPR, the team sadly couldn\u2019t save Kim\u2019s life.<\/p>\n

At the funeral, Stevie remarked that Kim wasn\u2019t around to hear her say that she\u2019d have made a brilliant doctor, as the team figured out how to move forward after this devastating tragedy.<\/p>\n
