{"id":538205,"date":"2026-04-18T18:32:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-18T18:32:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/538205\/"},"modified":"2026-04-18T18:32:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-18T18:32:08","slug":"two-killed-after-car-apparently-drives-on-wrong-side-of-m90-in-perth-and-kinross-scotland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/538205\/","title":{"rendered":"Two killed after car apparently drives on wrong side of M90 in Perth and Kinross | Scotland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Two drivers have died in a motorway crash in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/uk\/scotland\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Scotland<\/a> involving a car apparently travelling in the wrong direction on the carriageway, police have said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The two men died at the scene of the collision on the M90 near Kinross, a town in Perth and Kinross, at 10.30pm on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Police Scotland said a grey Ford Kugawas seen driving northwards on the southbound carriageway near junction seven and collided with a white Vauxhall Corsa which was on the southbound part of the motorway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The 44-year-old man driving the Kuga and the 20-year-old man driving the Corsa were both fatally injured.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Police have appealed for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Ch Insp Lyne Williamson, from Police Scotland\u2019s operational support division, said: \u201cMy thoughts are with the families of both the men who died following this tragic incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\u201cAn investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances of the crash.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\u201cAnyone who was travelling on the M90 at the time and witnessed what happened, or has dashcam footage that could assist our inquiries, is asked to contact officers as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The M90 was closed southbound between junctions six and seven for about 16 hours to allow an investigation to be carried out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Two drivers have died in a motorway crash in Scotland involving a car apparently travelling in the wrong&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":538206,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[59,57,58,50,56,54,55],"class_list":{"0":"post-538205","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-united-kingdom","8":"tag-gb","9":"tag-great-britain","10":"tag-greatbritain","11":"tag-news","12":"tag-uk","13":"tag-united-kingdom","14":"tag-unitedkingdom"},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/538205","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=538205"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/538205\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/538206"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=538205"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=538205"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=538205"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
